Defend Don Stapley
Maricopa County District 2 Supervisor
Chairman 1997, 2002, 2006
Vice-Chairman 2000, 2005
County Leader of the Year
Don Stapley is the District 2 Supervisor in Maricopa County and the current President of the National Association of Counties. Don has more than fourteen years of experience developing a reputation as a dynamic and effective leader. It is that knack of bringing people together to accomplish common goals that earned Supervisor Don Stapley the designation of the 2004 County Leader of the Year.
As a Maricopa County Supervisor, Don has devoted much of his time building coalition to get Maricopa County moving. His efforts resulted in the 2001 purchase and preservation of the Spur Cross Ranch; the 2005 creation of the Special Health Care District that moved the County’s hospital and 11 clinics into an independent organization funded by property taxes and Don’s continued role in crafting a 20-year transportation plan that could best meet the needs of a the region’s growing population. In 2004 Don spearheaded the unique partnership now called the Human Services Campus - seamlessly serving the needs of our region’s homeless. Under Don’s leadership, Maricopa County was named the “Best Run County in America” by Governing Magazine.
As President of the National Association of Counties, Don is hard at work as an advocate for counties moving towards green fleets. He is also promoting civil discussions and a workable system to deal with the issues of legal immigration.
Don Stapley has a keen love for Arizona - his family has been a large part of it, particularly in Mesa, a city the Stapley’s helped found in the late 1800’s. As a native of Arizona, Don is the owner of Stapley and Company, a real estate management firm and holds an active broker’s license. He and his wife Kathy live in the East Valley and have four children and six grandchildren. Since his youth, he has been actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America and in 2006 earned the distinction of the Silver Beaver Award. He remains active in his church and lends his support to many community charitable organizations.
Don Stapley is a man of incredible character and integrity. To be subjected to this sort of a witch-hunt by these two bums makes me sick. Please support Don Stapley - the truth about these ridiculous accusations will set him free.

I have known Don since I was 12 years old. I can safely say with 100% surety he is a man of honor who has donated much if not most of his life to the service of others. When I was a Boy Scout Don was there teaching me principles that I have remembered throughout my life. He has been an outstanding mentor throughout my life encouraging me to pursue a masters degree, serve in my community, and so many other things.
I find it painful to watch such an honorable man go through such a vicious political attack.
I find it even more absurd that my tax dollars are being spent on a political witch hunt. I truly hope that when all is said and done the County Attorney and Sheriff are held accountable for the misuse of our tax dollars.

It’s extremely unfortunate that Joe Arpaio and Andrew Thomas hate Don Stapley to the extent they do. If I’m not mistaken, I thought it was an American right to be able to express your own political opinions? Well, I guess not in Maricopa County, because of the so called God (Joe Arpaio) and his right hand man, or should I say puppet (Andrew Thomas) think they are the leaders of all leaders of Maricopa County. I have a friend who worked for M.C.S.O. and he tells me that if you disagree with Joe Arpaio, or any of his Deputy Chiefs, you might as well kiss your career good bye. This just shows that in Don Stapleys case, if you disagree with him, you will pay with your life. I know Don will prevail in this fight against corrupt politics, and in the end, both Joe Arpaio and Andrew Thomas should pay for it with their careers and repay all that was taken from Don Stapley (health, money, career, etc….)

The word is spread about these two vindictive political monsters (Arpaio and Thomas.) I don’t even know Don Stapley, however, I can see how much of a witch-hunt this is, and I’m going to do whatever I can on my part (even if it is a little) to instill in the Maricopa County’s voters minds, to never re-elect these two corrupt politicans again. If you read my post, start now talking to all of your friends, family, and whoever else you can to never vote for these two again. And if possible, if we join together, we can start a recall petition!!!

The Mormon Church and Arpaio, two very corrupt forces, combined. It’s a scary world when personal vendettas engulf the public eye.
